SUMMARY
A new plant association in the Miljacka Canyon, Allio carinatae–Sedetum albae Hasanbeg., 2024, comb. nova, is described in this paper. The research was conducted using the Braun-Blanquet phytocoenological method, including parameters such as life form, indicator values, phytocoenological affiliation, and floristic elements. Field investigations were carried out from 2022 to 2024. Altitude was determined using a GPS device (“Magellan eXplorist”), while terrain slope was measured with the “Rectora DP 6 Global” clinometer.
The characteristic species of this association is Sedum album L. Other significant species include Allium carinatum L., Silene vulgaris (Moench) Garcke, Melica ciliata L., Chenorila juncea L., Stipa calamagrostis (L.) Wahlenb., and others. A total of 55 species were recorded. In terms of indicator values, primary vegetation elements prevail. The most represented phytocoenological order is Amphicarpetalia. Hemicryptophytes are the most numerous life form, and the dominant floristic element is sub-Mediterranean.
The association includes 13 groups of floral elements and 44 individual floristic elements. The endemic species of the Dinarides, Erysimum linariifolium Tausch, was also recorded, further enriching the floristic significance of the area. The aim of this study is to contribute to a better understanding of the biodiversity and vegetation structure of the Miljacka Canyon.
