The Impact of Physical and Health Education Lessons on Transforming Anthropological Status of Students with Inclusive Needs – Case Study
Faris Rašidagić
SUMMARY
Inclusiveness means providing equal opportunities and maximum flexibility in meeting the specific educational and broader social needs of children with disabilities. It is based on the principle that every individual has equal rights and opportunities, and that these rights and needs should be fulfilled through physical and sports activities whenever possible.
The aim of this paper was to examine the positive effects of physical and health education on the transformation of the anthropological status of students with inclusive needs. In addition to schools, inclusion should also be promoted in sports clubs and other extracurricular environments. However, this area has not yet achieved widespread implementation.
The results indicate that children generally have positive attitudes toward inclusion in physical and health education. Such an approach helps young people develop personal values and fosters positive attitudes toward individuals with special needs. In contrast, teachers’ experiences with inclusive physical education are often less positive, mainly due to insufficient training and preparation, which may hinder the successful implementation of inclusive practices.
The findings suggest that physical and health education can produce positive transformational effects. Teachers’ attitudes and professional competencies should be further improved through education and training programs to support more effective inclusive processes. Parental consent was obtained for conducting the study, and information about the participating students and school remained confidential.
