SAŽETAK
The main objective of this research was to compare the Attacking Efficiency Index (AEI) of younger male and female senior judokas (U-23) who participated in the National Judo Championship of Bosnia and Herzegovina held in 2015 in Ilidža, Sarajevo.
The sample consisted of 60 matches of younger male seniors and 22 matches of younger female seniors across seven weight categories. The analyzed variables included throwing techniques, groundwork (parterre) techniques, and scored technical points achieved through the successful execution of these techniques.
Data were collected through video analysis of competition matches. The results showed that there were no significant differences in the total points scored between male and female U-23 competitors. However, the independent samples T-test revealed statistically significant differences in the cumulative Attacking Efficiency Index.
The average AEI was 10.9 for younger male seniors and 11.77 for younger female seniors. Analysis of individual techniques indicated that the most effective techniques among male competitors were Kesa Gatame, Tani Otoshi, and Uchi Mata, while among female competitors the most effective were O Soto Gari, Ouchi Gari, and Kesa Gatame.
The findings suggest the need for further analysis of competitive performances of younger male and female judokas. The authors also recommend that coaches adjust technical, tactical, and fitness preparation programs, particularly for younger female senior competitors, in order to improve competitive efficiency.
